Our pre-kindergarten program uses an integrated, theme-based curriculum. Through careful observation and support, our teachers become knowledgeable of each child's interests and provide the appropriate materials and support to enhance each child's learning experience. Our interactive, hands-on lessons are created specifically for the children in the current classroom to maximize the learning experience.
With our experienced and passionate teaching staff, we ensure that each child is progressing at a healthy pace. We place great value on the importance of balancing play and structure while developing social skills. In our program, every child develops a strong academic foundation that will prepare them for the next level of their academic journey.
*Our Pre-K 4's program is designed for students who are not eligible for the state's GA Pre-K program due to their date of birth for the current school year. Students must be 4 years old by September 1st of the current school year in order to qualify for GA-Pre-K.
Free Pre-Kindergarten (GA Pre-K)
Students who turn 4 before September 1st
A free prekindergarten program is available to any Georgia resident child turning four years old by September 1st through the Georgia Pre-Kindergarten program. Great Beginnings is a certified center designated for participation in the Georgia Pre-Kindergarten program (GA Pre-K). The GA Pre-K program is a statewide effort to enhance the educational readiness for students entering kindergarten. The curriculum focuses on reading, writing, and social skills to prepare children for kindergarten. Great Beginnings maintains the required teacher-to-student ratio and includes an assistant in the classroom. GA Pre-K emergent literacy training is also required for all of our instructors. GA Pre-K is offered during the school year and follows the public school calendar.
We offer a structured curriculum to prepare our students for kindergarten. Our curriculum exposes children to a variety of learning experiences through monthly themes. We actively engage each student to deliver the skills and knowledge needed to excel. Our curriculum focuses on language arts, math, science, and a strong phonics-based program. Great Beginnings provides each student with the opportunity to develop their cognitive, social emotional, linguistic, and creative abilities. Further, there is an end-of-year memorable graduation ceremony.
- Our Georgia Pre-K Program hours are from 8:00 - 2:30, Monday through Friday.
- Please note, class spaces are limited and enrollment is completed on a first-come basis. Great Beginnings usually fills all of its available GA PreK spaces every year. We encourage families to enroll early to ensure a spot in the class. Please call or stop by to begin the process.
